8 Hot Trends For Summer

Hello there! I am Helen a.k.a. NessaRosebleed (or just Nessa if you like) and I’m guest posting for Chloe’s blog, Styleahead. So, here’s my article about the must trends of this summer. Enjoy!

8 Hot Trends for Summer

I’m one hundred percent positive that you are dying to know the latest summer trends and I’m glad to inform you that there is no need to wait for the biggest fashionista to sport them; you can do that. That’s because the have already been revealed!

Hot Trend #1

Bold Belts

Louis Vuitton has always been creative. Just look at those amazing belts. They can make the simplest black dress look totally fabulous without even using other accessories! Douze points!

Christian Dior has proved us that colors like beige and brown can look uber hot.. Despite the fact that they are “safe” colors they can look “dangerous” as long as you can support a safari look. Animal patterns are always in.

Valentino. Here’s a perfect example of how a belt not made of leather should be. Try this more daring version and you will definitely be rewarded. Some risks pay off, don’t they?

Hot Trend #2

Big accessories

As I mentioned above, Louis Vuitton has always been creative. Take a look at those uber cute accessories.. They are so bohemian, aka trendy, and remind me tribal jewelry. How hot is that?

Lanvin’s designs are always inspiring -at least for me- and this look (left) inspires me to grab some shiny accessories. Like a bracelet made of gems or a shiny clutch. On the other hand Louis Vuitton (left) shows a more earthly version. Bright colors like red, orange, brown and green are proved to be very good “friends” especially during summer.

Imagine having to go somewhere for a special occasion and having nothing special to wear! Disaster? No! As long as there is a bold necklace around. It’s a fact that necklaces are getting bolder and brighter this season. This is definitely a good thing and Oscar de la Renta proves it.

Hot Trend #3

Black and White

Have I mentioned how much I love this combination? No? I think it’s time to do it now. Black and white has always been in, has always been classic and has always been proving that it is sophisticated and hot at the same time. Oh and Christian Lacroix makes it look even more fabulous!

Ok, if Chanel hasn’t been a pioneer in black and white combinations then who has? Cute, sophisticated bags that work better than clutches are always in style, right?

Now, how cool is that? Look at those classy shoes by Chanel and tell me. Don’t they look dashing? Especially the shoes on the left. The would have looked totally classic without the feather detail and the transparent part but now it looks uber hot and funky. I wish there was one in fuchsia too!

Hot Trend #4

Nude class

Hey, is that a Birkin bag? Anyway, Dior has proved that nude colors can look “dangerous” but don’t forget that they are always a safe choice. Complicated, right? Well, Hermes shows the other side of nude colors, the sophisticated, classy one. And that is so hot.

Oh, every time I mention Dior he appears in front of me! Look at this fabulous dress with the trendy belt. It’s definitely a big plus for the otherwise boring outfit. Who said that fabulous can’t be boring sometimes? One the other hand, on the right there is a not-at-all boring shoe. Hmm… Perfect match, don’t you think?

Hot Trend #5

Colorful Bags

Wow. Oscar de la Renta is quite colorful. What’s better than a playful handbag (a big one)? I mean, look at those uber cute sea-creatures-inspired bags. Nothing shouts trendy more than them. Except for an adventurous pair of Dior shoes or some Louis Vuitton accessories (above).

Louis Vuitton! While writing this article, I quite missed the bright colored accessories by Louis Vuitton. Like these bags. Colorful and they scream summer! F-A-B!

Is it real crocodile leather? I hope not. Anyways, it’s so hot that I hardly care. Lanvin didn’t just create a common green clutch made by crocodile leather but also a pink one and hopefully tons of others!

Hot Trend #6

Super Short Shorts

Ok, can it scream more summer? A trendy safari inspired on the left, a hot ocean blue one on the right. Too bad because I don’t think anyone would dare to wear them somewhere else apart from their bed or at the beach.

How cute! These shorts by Marni are definitely hot and the stockings make them look even cuter! I absolutely, positively heart them.

Oh-Em-Gi! High waisted shorts? These uber short shorts by Ellie Tahari are definitely amazing! They remind me the 60’s ;they have their class and their hotness.

Hot Trend #7

Cool blazers

I was checking these outfits on Stardoll and I was thinking: What is missing? And I figured out. All you need to make a casual outfit hotter is a cool blazer. What else can I say? Just cool!

Oh man! I hate these gowns… They are too formal for my taste. I am sure that Carolina Herrera has the same opinion; maybe that’s why she added cool blazers to those dresses.

That’s hot, hot, hot like fire. I start really liking Ellie Tahari. First the high waisted shorts and now these absolutely awesome blazers. I hope there’s more to come!

Hot Trend #8

Sassy Mini Dresses

Yay! Louis Vuitton’s dresses! How amazing? I’m in love with the colors and take a closer look at the models’ shoes! Cool!

Balmain. My favorite.. These bandage dresses so summer-ish. They are ultra feminine and they definitely flattering for your curves.

Well, these dresses are girly and glamorous. And super hot trends for this summer.

That was all girls. Oh, and don’t worry if you are too young to wear these ultra fabulous clothes. A girl can always dream, right?

xx.

Fashion On The GO!

Above is a extreamely lookalike photo of my sandals .
Well, today, a happy Summer day, the sun is shinning and the birds twittering, oh, no, sorry, tweeting. I pulled on my black back-zip studded and strappy gladiators, my peacock blue jean shorts and my yellow tank top on. After adding a few colorful wooden bracelets, painting my nails and putting a face sun-block I grabbed my sun-glasses and my big slouch bag. I applied some neutral gloss, black eyeliner and finished of with some white (for base), peacock blue and slightly a tinny bit of yellow eyeshadow (blended).
The thing I love about summer the most is that you don't need to wear many layers of clothing and that makes it faster and easier to compose an outfit. Summer 09' fashion is all about bright color's. And as long as you don't overdo it you're definitely going to have a successfully in-fashion look. Also strappy shoes and sandals are very much in fashion right now and studs (on shoes or clothing) give you a really rock attitude, (rock=fashion success). Always add accessories though, because you don't want to look dull, but remember again NOT to overdo it.
As you should know, this Summer is parted into 2 basic different "styles", rock and hippie. Personally I'm much more towards rock than hippie but I love bright neon colours which are another huge category in this summers fashion. I just like mixing and matching until the wanted result has been created.
But, always remember that you must choose your style "group" for this Summer, depending on what suits you best and not on what's more popular. Because as Coco Channel wisely said, we look best in what we like, feel comfortable in and suits us. So, if you want be like me and mix this Summers trends until you get the result that you are satisfied with.
REMEMBER: STUDS AND STRAPS ARE A MUST!
Happy Summer Girls.

What is next?

With couture Fashion out doing its usual standards, creating lines which leave fashionistas all over the country breathless as they struggle to work out... What is next?
Designers such as Channel, Marc Jacobs, Erdem, taking over the runways with their unique looks, especially Channels Monochrome, eye catching, breath taking. This is the seasons latest. But what can we expect from next season, with the sailor chic ruling the seas and the Vintage 50's and 40's flash backs stating all over fashion week, what is next?. Will it be yet another Vintage season, or maybe Alexa Chung Will be the new inspiration, with her unwashed hair and boy style chic, this is my betting, but those can never be sure.
Kate Moss, appearing in Vogue recently is sure to know whats next, she always does, Doesn't she?
But don't worry folks, though next seasons ranges are a mystery, we can still end this season in style.

Vera Wang Resort 2010

Vera Wang cheekily called Resort her "Calypso-meets-Intermix" collection. What the reference to those eclectic boutiques means is this: Not only are there more colors—safety orange, peacock blue, chartreuse—than in the designer's last several seasons combined, but the line is also chock-full of item-y pieces like slouchy, whisper-thin cardigans; lace shorts; and all manner of T-shirts and tanks for her customers to mix and match. The inspiration, Wang explained, came from her daughters, who are fond of wearing long tees over short shorts, and the lineup did have a more youthful sensibility than her runway shows. Save for the daisy chain necklaces, embellishments were for the most part pared down, and her signature voluminous silhouette has been likewise streamlined. The key piece was the one Wang herself wore to the CFDA Awards earlier this week: an olive gold sequin racer-back tank dress over a sleeveless white cotton T-shirt.

Fall 2009-Winter 2010- GLOVES

The new fashion season Fall 2009-Winter 2010 is already close to us and that means it’s high time we spoke about trends. This post will give you information about tendencies in glove fashion.

First of all I’d like to say that gloves themselves are a hot trend this season and designers paid lots of attention to them.

Gloves are incorporated into many outfits and certainly add much sophistication and glamour to them. So, what is going to be top fashionable this fall and winter?

1. Leather gloves. I don’t think you are surprised to know that, because leather gloves are always in style.

They are classic and if you want to have a pair to be appropriate now and ten years later this is exactly what you need.

Besides, there are various designs for you to choose from. The only thing to limit your choice is that all pairs of this season are rather long, they never end right at your wrist!

I love the style Zac Posen offered - long over-elbow clinging gloves, they look really perfect.

Elbow-length gloves also look great.

Those which are a bit shorter than that are presented in a huge variety:

different colors, fingerless, tight or loose-fitting gloves.

Derek Lam suggested reptile leather to make gloves from. The id

ea is interesting, isn’t it?

2. Suede gloves. Suede gloves aren’t as practical as leather ones but they do look as beautiful! Again lots of colors and designs give as a great opportunity to find the very pair we want. Ralph Lauren offers us classic styles while Carolina Herrera and Derek Lam show more street-like and casual styles.

3. Velvet gloves. If you wish to add chic to your wardrobe select a pair of velvet gloves. Elegant and sexy, they are appropriate for different occasions. Some are of a simple design; others are embellished with strasses, or worn with a watch.

4. Satin gloves. They weren’t presented in plenty in designers’ collections but I decided they deserve your attention. Smooth and shining fabric looks wonderful and such a pair will serve as a good accessory for any clothes, from an evening gown to a denim combination.

5. Lace gloves. If we have already started talking about gloves to pair an evening gown we should certainly mention lacy gloves. They are so tender, so cute. Some are made in a quite sheer fabric, others are highly patterned.

6. Short mannish gloves. For girls who don’t like feminine items these are just the right option.

7. Knitted gloves. Winter is a cold season and knitted gloves will do your hands good. And they look pretty too!

That is all, my dear ladies, wish you warm and happy winter!
Which kind of gloves do you prefer?

Carolina Herrera Spring Summer 2009 Fashion Show

It’s all clean and beautiful with Carolina Herrera. Feminine and perfectly romantic, her creations always fill my heart with a long lost fashion flavor.

Shades of red, white, gray, black, bright yellow, blue, nude beige, all combined for a classic look and a classy feel. It’s like an island in fashion. Carolina Herrera’s ruffled dresses can turn frogs into princesses in a frock swing. Makes me dream about simple fashion, a world where you wouldn’t have to think edgy and too daring, where you wouldn’t fear not being understood or mismatched. That’s how I feel about Carolina Herrera’s Spring Summer 2009. Here are few of the pieces I found brilliant but you can see all the show after the break plus Carolina Herrera herself explaining this collection. Wouldn’t you dream about an endless Red Carpet?

Marc Jacobs Handbags And Clutches

Marc Jacobs has split his bag collection in two things
African style as we can see from the many animal
print designs. And the more couture vintage design as
we can see from some of the other bags but never the
less all are very colorful and bright and all make a fashion
"it" statement. Marc Jacobs in to words? Ethnic Couture.

Marc Jacobs Spring-Summer 2009 Review

I reviewed the Marc Jacobs Spring show online and I found a slide show of some of the main fashions on the runway.
First there were many vintage-country inspired outfits. There were lots of pillbox hats, which looked very cute and chic. Also many of the girls were wearing plaid and gingham-checked shirts in various colors and patterns, which added to the vintage and country feel. Also on the runway were chunky pieces of jewelry such as a big necklace shown below and cute girly heels in several different colors and styles.
The main thing about this part of the show was that most of the outfits were tailored to the top half of your body. Basically the shirt was very done up and looked very nice, and that is what caught your eye, and it was very accessorized and patterned. The bottoms, such as a skirt or maybe pants, were more on the plain side so the look wasn’t too busy.

It seems to me that the next part of the show was inspired by the word “big”. The models were dressed in big patterns and big belts. They wore big hats and they carried big bags.
Many of the prints seemed to be foreign-looking, like one tunic that had an African feel to it. Another outfit had an oriental essence, with a big coat that had a butterfly/floral print. Both of these looks sound too busy and overwhelming, but it was easy to pull off by making one piece of clothing the main focus and the rest rather plain.

Last but not least came the Grecian-inspired dresses. Most of them were in soft colors like light pink or gray and had a very flowy appearance. Grecian dresses are very flattering and can look good on any figure. Add a cute belt, like the one below to accent your waist. An off-the-shoulder look always adds to the Grecian look and looks very chic!

So that’s it for the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 show…be sure to check it out!

DEPRESSION CHIC

Do you know that fashion trends this season highlight “depression chic”? How to describe it exactly? As far as I concerned, it is the fashion world’s straight stab at bringing back the glamorous dresses. Yes, in Spring/Summer 2009, great depression has suddenly become one of the hottest topic in fashion industry. Then, how to create such a depression chic? Finishing a broken in replica handbag, ripped jeans or wrinkled suits? In fact, the recent economic downturn equaled an unexpected turn for the better for fashion design this season. The economy has had obvious negative effects on the fashion industry, but an unpredicted positive result comes in the form of one of the most popular trends, cleverly referred to as “depression chic.” Here fashion is devided into two group, the one is practical wear, the other is the comparatively high-sounding vintage style. I cannot compare much more toward them since both of them are determined by special sense of worth. While, from the point of fashion’s encouragement, we need wear more beautiful and gorgeous in the econimic downturn period. See the practical wear first. Of course, in the special period, we have to keep more cash in hand, thus we control our shopping desire towards luxury designer items, and begin to select the approachable warm texture, like textile, cotton, stretch-fabrics even the hard-wearing jean. You could consider it as a common civilian fashion, just taste fashion in affordable prices. Then take a good look at the super realism group. It gives high praise to a brand new idea – the more depressive, the more stylish. Seems a little bolshy. I guess that people should shift their disappointment from the great economic downturn, therefore they mustn’t stop going for fashion. Maybe that will help us to forget annoyance for the moment. Nevertheless, no matter what the fashion changes, you should remember one big fashion rule, that is : Always wear stuff that you like and think look good on your body even if they not that fashionable. We look good in clothes that we feel good in.
What's your take on the matter?
